SOOO I'm finally here! The apartment is great. My roommates are fantastic. The neighborhood is adorable and convenient. I already feel at home, and I've only been here 12 hours!
After I arrived at the apartment and unpacked, one of my roommates showed me the neighborhood. There are grocery and convenience stores on every corner, TONS of restaurants and the architecture in this area of the Financial District is simply breathtaking. I actually live in a historic building that houses the oldest restaurant in Manhattan (Delmonico's) which is near the oldest street in New York. During the summer, this street is closed off to traffic so the restaurants can put tables outside. It's one long street of tables buzzing with hungry locals and tourists alike. Love it! (A picture would be wonderful here, huh? Note to self...)
After a few hours of walking, I came back, made some phone calls home to let family/friends know I'm here safely. Then I met up with a friend for dinner at Lincoln Plaza, where I will be interning. This trip served as a Subway ride test run/get-to-know-the-area trip. It was perfectly lovely!
Now I'm sitting watching the "Jon & Kate Plus 8" season premiere with my roommates before heading to bed to get beauty rest for my first day on the job. A report about my internship will come later this week.
Thanks for reading! XoXo
